It would definitely be a cool idea and I would have to think about talking the wifey into getting a brand new truck if they did a good enough job on "retro" truck. :)

Id even do a 2wd never owned a 2wd truck before

Do you mean a 73-76? Why a 71-76? 71 and 72 are the previous body style, but I am fairly certan 71 was the first year of front disk brakes as standard equipmnt.
