im pulling old engine out do i leave bell housing or pull it out with motor its a 4 speed i tried to pull fork out but no luck thanks

If at all possible I would leave it. The less that has to come out the better.

6 of 1. 1/2. A dozen of the other. Easier to seperate at the transmission to bell housing point. No matter how you do it you have to come far enough forward before you come up so you can get the transmission main shaft free of the clutch plate .Id be more inclined to leave the transfer case in the trick and r&r the engine and transmission as a unit. On an automatic, no doubt leave the transmission and transfer case in place.I don't feel the same about a stick.
