86 K10 stock. I'm going to have the bushings changed on the front leaf spring rear shackle hangers and leaf spring bushings. The bolt currently is installed from the inside out. My exhaust pipes are right there blocking it from being able to pull it out easily.

Once the old one is hacked out, is it ok to install the new bolt from the outside in, with the nut closest to the exhaust....instead of the bolt head? I'd assume so, thought I'd ask.

That is what I did years ago and haven't had any issues.

If it's the bottom bolt ,you could remove the top bolt and let the spring down to remove the bottom bolt?

Is it really this easy? Skip to 1:55. There isn't an outer sleeve to cut out? Was getting ready to pay someone $200 cuz I thought you had to chisel out an outter sleeve. These were the only bushings I didn't replace ~2 years ago.

Do you have a photo of the front shackle? I am in the process of getting ready to remove a ****** lift from my 86 CUCV. I'm interested to see how the OEM shackle looks compared to these homemade looking shackles.

it's not that hard, to change the bushings. I know I had everything removed body, engine etc. when I did mine. Use a C-clamp to press them in and liberally apply the lube they supply for the bushings. Not to advertise but if I was to do it over again I would get the ORD version of rear shackles with the greasable bolts.

Them bushinga can be a real PIA.
I use a balljoint press and push them out, but I have seen people torch the rubber out, which in turn removes the sleeve in the center, then take a air hammer and knock out the outer sleeve of the bushing from the seam that makes the leaf springs "eye"

One thing to keep in mind if going with the ORD shackles. They are longer then the OEM shackles by 1/2 inch or so. They are a great piece. I have them and really like that piece of mind and extra movement.

I have ORD's in my K30. As you can see from the prior post, they are way beefier and are grease-able. My original upper bushing had an oval shaped hole due to wear.

What is the distance from hole-to-hole on the ORD design? Mine have some adjustability but not enough to get to stock ride height.

1/2 inch longer then stock. (I corrected my post above) no where near those home made jobbers. I can measure after work, unless someone beats me to it.

4.5".

My only worry with your step up is the possible side to side flex. It looks like your bushing is not centered in the spring.

What's the Caster set at? It probably will return the steering to center well.
