I can’t seem to find the answer to this but I have no idea what this is for... I THINK that this is where a line would run into trans/trans cooler??? It’s not threaded and all I can see is tons of crap filling the trans case up. Currently rebuilding it and doing a lq4/4l80e swap. Any help is much appreciated thanks!!

Looks like the vent to me. It should have a pressed-in barb to attach a short hose and breather.

BTW, confessions of a hoarder,... A number of people here suggested those factory underhood lights from the GMT-400s with the cord reel were da bomb. I loved the idea, but I understand they're hard to come by.
