Well, it looks like I'm gonna drive down to Victoria tomorrow to take my friend to see her dad. He's a cool guy and it's a great drive too. Fun fun!!

Well I gotta say I was nervous about taking the Camaro on a 150 mile trip. The weather was great and traffic was light with speed limit 70 to 75 most the time. Even tho we went a lot of back roads. 60 to 65 then except when you hit small towns. I ran it on average 70 at a very pleasing 1800rpm and temp about 190. It was about 90 outside. The air running the whole time too. Her daughter liberty fell asleep to the steady hum of the engine.

Her dad is in a hote because he's working at the plant near there. The hotel had a pretty good pit. So we hung out for about 4 and a half hours. Ate some good bbq and a couple beers I was very happy with the way the car ran and preformed.

That has to be a great feeling after all the trouble you've had lately! The car looks great and sounds like it drives even better.

@82sbshortbed - when you get a chance can you look under the hood on the passenger side behind the headlight and see if you see this little vacuum tube?

If so, where does it connect on the top ?

Noticed that while doing the passenger side daytime running lamp that died this afternoon.

I still swear it ran faster with the old knock sensors, but could just be me.

Installation can be very picky with these. Pretty sure there is a proper torque spec for them because if the are TOO TIGHT that can make them hyperactive and unnecessarily retard ignition timing.
Maybe a reset procedure?
Replacing these is often done incorrectly.
I forward the motion that it MAY NOT BE your imagination.
This could be a simple check on a scan tool.

I'm interested in a reset if it does not involve a Scan II tool or something like that ( don't have) or does not require removal of the sensors ( under the intake).

Sry bud that's what I know about that.
In LS1 F-body cars..

If you want to turn it down or desensitize it, you unscrew it a little. Or put thread sealing pucky on the threads and that can help.

Well, I know that a scan tool (handheld) can signal when the knock sensor triggers and I know that some can be had very cheap. It seems wise to determine if a cheap one had that feature or not..and i think you might could rent one or maybe even Auto Zone or Oreilly's could do it for FREE.

Its called a knock sensor " count" .

I think.
That's what you want to see.

That really is all I know about that now.

I'll look tomorrow and See if u can get a picture of it. Yes I got a hand held scanner to u got for about 75 bucks and it's already been worth it for me too. I'll get a pic of it too.

I'll check on my TA tomorrow if I can read the knock sensors from the Torque App (im almost certain you can on an F Body). Combined with a Bluetooth OBD reader you can read a lot of data depending on the PCM. I believe theres a free version of the app and the Bluetooth dongle is a few bucks from ebay or amazon. Any ELM327 unit will do.

It's been a good tool for me.

That line goes to a flattened oval reservoir on the low side of the passenger side, and may go around the battery tray to a wrapped wiring harness.

But, with it disconnected, I can't tell.

I have some OBDII code readers , but nothing that offers real time data.
