I'll share this in hopes it may help someone. My 84 K10 has a wet spot below the passenger kick panel that I was determined to fix since I just installed new carpet. I could see water drip off of the bottom front of the kick panel (ac truck) but couldn't find any water above the panel. I pulled the cowl, all seemed normal, pulled the kick panel and notice when I looked down through my hood hinge opening I could see my new carpet! The weather strip on the panel was not stuck to the plastic and had dropped down below the mating surface of the panel and metal panel. Ive installed new weather stripping and new screws and its supposed to rain this week here. I didn't spray it with the hose, it was getting dark and Monday got here. Its not my daily driver so Ill be checking on this and posting again.

Well, it rained like hell last night and the leak is gone! Now I have to do the same fix to my 86 C10 with heat only cab.

Glad to hear you fixed your leak. I ran into another one that bugged me for a couple weeks over on the passenger side. Same spot. Pissed me off too. It was the biggest reason why I got the truck out of the way of Hurricane Mathew, I didn't want to come back to a swamp on top of my nice nice new carpet and insulation. It turns out it was just the vent window dripping. I siliconed the vent window shut and that seems to be one more problem fixed.

My vent windows did not work well anyway, hell the driver's side is broken. The damn post that goes down into the door for it to rotate on broke. Oh well. I guess I just need to get the A/C fixed instead.

Sooooo how about that SEM? Does it appear to be holding up well? Is it worthy? I need to glue in the '77...I can get it at Walmart.

Since I am now revisiting this issue (see my other thread on it) I can say that the SEM seam sealer has held up VERY well. That stuff was impossible to remove to get to the rust underneath. I ended up having to leave most of it. I HIGHLY recommend the product if you can get it.
