Is there a procedure in testing the fuel tank selector valve?

1 wire or 5 wire? 3 port or 6 port?

1 wire you can take a 12 v source and touch it to the single post and here it click. No noise its dead. Be sure you have a good ground to the body.

1 wire you can take a 12 v source and touch it to the single post and here it click. No noise its dead. Be sure you have a good ground to the body.

5 wire, 6 port.

You will have to look up the wiring diagram for you year of vehicle and find out would pin is the signal to switch the valve.

If the vehicle is the 73 you have listed, then you should just have a 1 wire, 3 port unless the PO put in a newer style valve.

I'm working on an 85 C10 that I'll be giving to my youngest granddaughter. I gave the 73 to my oldest granddaughter (the 73 is single tank).

Yes, this is the basic set up. 5 wire runs the intake pumps.
