Hello all! I've just purchased my first squarebody and am already enjoying it. It's not without a few flaws, but I'm happy with the truck. I picked up a 1985 GMC c2500 crewcab long bed with 104k miles on the body. It has a donor 454 with ~90k miles in it. I had been eyeballing the truck from the road and finally stopped to ask about it, and it turned out to belong to my old optometrist. (Small town) I felt like it was a pretty good deal for as rust-free as the truck is.
The truck ran well when I bought it. Worst part was the exhaust leak at the exhaust manifold. After about 300 miles, it developed a miss, causing it to stall at low rpm and run rough. We'll see how it all shakes out.
I was able to buy the truck through my business, so I'm planning a moderate restore. It will still be a work truck, but the ol' girl needs to look good if she's going to have the company name on it.
