That looks like a cool little gathering.

It was, this club is actually pretty big. It was in *******, Ga at a Taco Mac. Had a little bit of everything from a ‘57 all the way up to an OBS

Got a late start last night, but I finely got er done. It was definitely time for new wires. When pulling the sleeves off the boots I came across another cracked wire... not burnt thru yet.

You would think at over 1800 degree protection from the sleeves this wouldn’t happen. The titanium wire sleeves plus the boot sleeves surely will deter future problems. Just ran them up to the loom.

Now just have to make time to pull and replace the plugs and button everything back up.

I have had that door panel off a few times when I was chasing the lock issue but never looked at the back.

So, no idea. And, I still want some LMC map pockets to install.

None on mine - got the speakers instead.

Cool, but hope those pods don't break as that was another 1 year only feature as far as I know.
I have a pair of power doors with thise pods... lol js

Just wrapped this up. Time will tell if the extra sleeves does the job. Now if I can only get my console project finished up.

Power window versions ?

I guess they would have an extra hole for the switch but not one for the window crank ?

What color are the panels?

Oh, yeah - are there speed nuts on the piece ?

There are speed nuts on the handle pocket trim. Just looked at one of mine this afternoon.

OK - hard to tell, but since the day I got Goldie that ps side brown painted trim on the grille was too far inset, and it raised the "G" on the GMC.

Little thing, but it bothered me. And, fine attention to detail at the factory...

So, I decided to take the grille off and fix it.

The trim bars and the GMC emblem are held on by speed nuts, and the grille has 6 Phillips screws.

Got that off, and thought I could just turn it around. Nope - the little posts are on slide metal clips and the holes are not evenly spaced. So, had to pry the metal of the bar to be able to move them around.

Got it, and went to put the grille back on.

40 year old plastic retainers ain't happy about being removed.

Sitting there with clear silicone drying so I can attempt reinstall tomorrow.

I guess some things should be left factory...

:anitoof:

Look how far off it was - that paint line.

Wow.

There are speed nuts on the handle pocket trim. Just looked at one of mine this afternoon.

I suspect then that mine broke sometime in the past and the PO glued it.

(Looked like there was a little glue residue on the back where the pins go. Maybe not, but kind of looked like it. )

If correct, it held for a really long time.

Hopefully my silicone will last as well , and there will be no question what the POS PO did for the next owner cuz I was not real neat with the silicone on the back.

:D
