rSo I am stoked!! Just bought a 1988 Suburban. Wanting to use it as a hunting rig and slowly replace practically everything. Right now the weather stripping is crap. The doors barely work. It runs good though. Not much rust as it is from Tacoma WA which is where I live at. I am trying to get pics loaded and will start a build thread

You’re in the right spot, that’s just when the pickups changed. Suburbans, Blazers and one tons were through ‘91.

:welcome: from northern IL!

You are in the right place! Squarebodies were 73-87 for pickups and 73-91 for Blazers and Suburbans.

Nice looking truck! Mine came from somewhere in WA also, bought it from someone on Oregon and had it shipped to me.

You have a solid platform here, good find.
So tell us, how far do you want to go with this truck?
How 'capable' do you want it to be?
It's not just about tossing the biggest tires on it... everything has to work together. So your vision is important... and so is your budget.
Doing things 'right' will cost more than you put into the truck already, hope you know that..
But with creative shopping, patience, no fear DIY attitude and our guidance you can build something that really suits your needs..

Welcome aboard. Its a pretty clean start. You'll have fun with it. As mentioned before some squares carried on into 1991, you could also get a square body 1 ton pickup up until 1991. 1989-1991 changed the grille and front lights but the rest of the vehicle was the same.

Pretty funny he was ready to quit just after he flashed the metal and got us all interested. haha
