If I was closer I'd give you a few bucks for that cowl screen if good.

That Silverado badge still looks good

Good call Nate, the cowl piece is unobtainable..

They sell them in LMC and other catalogs are those junk? I just didn't buy a new one cause they seemed pretty expensive. I was thinking close to $40 shipped.

I kind of rebuilt mine. I used window screen and hot glue to fix the openings. Mine had all broken out so it wasn't doing much catching of debris.

Oh You're talking about the plastic grill over the top, right. I meant the steel cowl only seen on '81 and up.

I feel like that would be a good topic for its own thread, just because ehat you are saying sounds like you would need to do a good amount of cusotm work to make it so. I feel you would need to have a long bed frame, so 2 feet not cut off for the short bed conversion, but then a cab thats only 2 feet longer. Or move your drive train, which sounds like more work and custom stuff. D

I was thinking i could retain my frame and use a short bed and add another cab rear to the existing cab and sheet metal over the new side openings. This is not the 4wd camper special so i didn't see much harm in cutting it up. i have seen some shortened to std cab short bed but i like the overall length of the truck as it is.

Yea I have seen them on eBay and a few places. I am cheap. So I was trying to save that $30-40 ish dollars. I am actually really happy with the results. Looks like a hot glue mess if you look in, but I don't care. Keeps leaves out and my truck is not a show truck. When this one gives up finially I will buy a replacement. Thanks for another source. Good price, wonder what their shipping is?

They’re always running coupon codes ( that’s a big deal to me). I usually wait till I need a few things and use the code then it makes me feel like it was free. Usually it’s free shipping plus 15%. So I feel good about the purchase.
