Honestly not one good forum to post into because it covers numerous subjects. But.. yeah.

Kinda cool. Is there... anything special about it, being it doesnt have a camper anymore and the original bed is rough(not rotted tho, just rough). Anything intrinsically better or of value being a camper special?

Anything of value in putting work into that cluster? I imagine the plastic is brittle but electronically it might be good. It has the dummy gauges!

Not sure why the floor was cut out on one side... maybe bad rotting and cut out rust?

What are your plans for it? I see a few good parts that you could sell for a few bucks it you wanted to part it out. the bed isn't a square body bed but would have some value.
I personally wouldn't consider restoring it.
Do you have the title for it? the vin tag rivets don't like original.

Assuming the VIN tag is right, there is no such thing as a 1/2 ton camper special.

The Camper Special option would be a 3/4 ton 8200 or 8400 lb GVW, 8 bolt wheels with E load rating tires, HD front and rear springs, usually with a 14 bolt FF 4.10 axle and front anti-sway bar. There would be Camper Special badges on the side of the pillar just behind the front doors.

Camper specials did not come with campers from the factory. I believe the teepee badge changed throughout the run as well.

One of the only camper equipped trucks from the factory I can think of would be the blazer chalet.

That was a cool truck at one point. 400sbc, 4x4, yellow paint, bucket seats, etc. Simply awesome!

With a little trimming, I installed these Autometer gauges into an '80 3+3 bezel and replaced the idiot lights. With green back lighting, it almost looked factory.

My stock daily driver '86 3/4 ton K2500 is a Camper Special with the 9.5 semi floater 14 bolt.
My avatar, '81 C3500 is a camper special also, dually and Dana 70 rear.

I believe ALL '81-'87 3/4 ton K-trucks got the semi-floater?

If I was closer I'd give you a few bucks for that cowl screen if good.

That Silverado badge still looks good

I knew the bed came from a 90s truck. Im guessing this truck originally was on the frame I posted in the differential and driveline. My grandfather was likely trying to make a smaller, powerful truck or something... man of many projects but not many final results. Is the frame 1/2 ton then? It does appear lighter. The cab is probably the only thing from a camper special in that case. Just because it was a clean cab. Was. But the badging like you mention is not present. Likely when he repainted it he did not reinstall them.
