In 1965 I had the Seniors in Auto Mech paint my 56 Chevy. I was a Sophomore. Cost about 20-30 bucks for paint and materials and the labor was free.... I got what I paid for!!!! Good old synthol enamel!!!

Eh, I guess it's just a personal preference. I've been using message boards since '02 or so and like how it works "stock".
I use both web and Tapatalk. They both have benefits.

Pictures seem to add better under the current iteration of Tapatalk. It also seems to work better in low service areas. Which are common where I work and I often check forums throughout the day. It just handles these low signal areas better and seems to do better for some reason. Part of that is that it cuts the busy crap out of the site. Strips it down to just text and any pics that are embedded. Their adds do load if signal allows, which they usually will load .

What the hell is that painted on the roof? At first I thought it was some alternate pattern rebel flag, but that's not it?

I actually can't see your pictures for some reason. I've noticed that happens a lot for me on here. Is there something I'm missing? I've tried the Tapatalk app (paid version too) and tried using a browser on my phone.

But thanks for the info! Boiled linseed oil on a vehicle is a new one for me but I'll definitely check it out.

Use a mixture of boiled linseed oil thinned down with 4 parts mineral oil. The surface ro be coated must be free of dust and dirt. If not free of dirt etc. It becomes trapped in the linseed oil mix and will cause a rough texture. Linseed oil takes about 24 hours to dry and it EXTREMELY flammable on the rags. Soak the used rags in water as they can spontaneously combust and start a fire.

Thanks for the details. After doing some more research into it, that's definitely the direction I'm going!

Yeah, for some reason SAmsung phones don't like to display pictures. All you get are symbols like this:

Go to a laptop or desktop computer and look at them.

What the **** is taptalk? I have literally never heard of it before now. Sometimes I see the "posted from my samsung on taptalk" at the end of posts, I always assumed that was just a phone's way of branding its messages like when you get an e-mail that ends with "sent from an i-pad" or some **** like that.

Jesus all this crap makes me glad I still have an actual computer for doing computer stuff and a phone for, well, making phone calls.

Cab looks fine, you could probably just rattlecan the bed to match the front. White is the easiest color to spray paint, hides imperfections real well and never looks "stripey" (unless you do a ******* terrible job). Spray paint usually doesn't look as good as a real paint job obviously, but since the white on your cab is old and faded they'll probably match up perfectly, without wasting a bunch of time and money trying to artificially "patina" your truck and making yourself look like some Cali douche poser in the process lol

:waytogo:

*speaking of!

It would be a cold day in hell before I took the bug guard off that truck. You can't fake that.

And I only use rubbing compound.

Thanks! I really love it. A lot of little things to do. Tune-up next, temp gauge isn't reading right, and flatten the hood. lol

I just picked up the temp wheels, while I sand and paint the oem ones.
