I have a 1980 chevy c10 with retro fitted power windows sometime in the 90s I would presume. The passenger side works great but the 5 prong switch seemed to have burned up the dual window switch for the driver side. I can find a million 6 prong switches. But I have yet to find a replacement 5 prong switch. I will take detailed pictures tomorrow but it just looks like the run of the mill dual metal doorman style switch. Just has five prongs instead of 6.

Any help would be appreciated and i will post pictures to follow. I would probably need a new connector female for it as well as this one is a tad....Crispy. Thanks!!

Must be aftermarket and wired differently? I only remember seeing 6-post switches from GM.

Something doesn’t sound right. Metal (stainless) switches means self grounding motors-whereas 6-prong LH switch indicates the 1982-up reverse polarity style motors. We need pics to really help you out with this. I build all variations of these power window/lock harnesses so I can help you sort out what’s going on but I need to see some pics of the issues you’re having.

I hope this works, as I can't get the backside picture to load, hopefully the clickable link works. It feels like this is indeed a metal switch. The door lock is a three prong switch and it feels awfully light, so I am thinking plastic. If I Can make a six prong switch work and just run a ground that will be great as well! Thanks!!

Its so crazy, then why can't i find any one that sells this switch nor anyone that even lists a 1980 chevy c10 with power windows? So weird. If anyone has a switch, lmk... It gets hot and wants to short out, so i am guessing the fubar back side is the culprit. So I was going to wire or solder them to a five post switch, but literally only can find six posts ones.

I have one-and you’ll need a pigtail for it as well. Message me-$65 shipped with new connector/pigtail.

Still need help with this, Either help with a wiring diagram to make a 6 prong harness and switch work, or Need to find the part number for a Five Prong switch, and harness. Greatly appreciated!
