New transmission help

Nothing about the Avalanche made sense. Just my opinion and not trying to offend anyone but, it was one of the most hideous looking things GM ever created. Definitely the platypus of automobiles.

The 2500 Avalanche frame was just a 2500 Suburban frame. I always thought it was odd the Avalanche came standard with the 8.1 but it was optional in the Suburban.

I also thought it was weird that the Avalanche was later available without all the cladding, but ONLY on the 1500. The 2500 was stuck with the goofy plastic.
The 1500 Avalanche was also on the Burb frame just that the 1500 was coil spring and 2500's were rear leafs. Yep, 1500 Avy got the 5.3 only and the 2500 got the 8100 Only, also no manual transmission options. 4L60-E and 4L80-E. No powertrain options. You got what they got.

I thought the same til I started demoing them to sale to customers. Then got used to it. They were much cheaper than the Suburbans but had the same chassis and features from the middle seats forward.

I have a 700R hooked to a transfer case id sell if you were close. Was in my 90' gmt400. Anyone know the compatability from gmt400 to square?

I have a 700R hooked to a transfer case id sell if you were close. Was in my 90' gmt400. Anyone know the compatability from gmt400 to square?

Trans and t-case adapter interchange, but not the t-case itself. It drops on the wrong side.

Not a bad option though if someone was to find a Ford Dana60 High Pinion axle. Being the Ford is a Left hand drop, you'd need that GMT400 set up. Just saying, it's not totally useless.

Also keep in mind, the 90 700r4 4x4 K case is one of the more sought after due to being the later the 700r4 is, the more fixes and design changes were improved. Pretty much anything 88-93 in the 700r4 is the core you'd want to build with the best chance of reliability and durabilty.

Also keep in mind, the 90 700r4 4x4 K case is one of the more sought after due to being the later the 700r4 is, the more fixes and design changes were improved. Pretty much anything 88-93 in the 700r4 is the core you'd want to build with the best chance of reliability and durabilty.
If it was 2wd i woudda tried putting it in my 78 ages ago

It's still worthy to one of us without the transfer case. We can use the transmisison and the adapter for an NP241C or NP208 transfer case RIGHT hand drop. You could sell the transfer case as a separate unit to a GMT400 guy and the trans to a Squarebody guy or GMT400 guy through early 93 before they went 4L60-E.

If it's a manual shift lever, 241C Drive side drop and it should be. Not sure GMT400 had electronic shift TC yet.

I know for a fact its manual. Had that truck many years.

The late SUV's had it optional, but I think that's it.
