Driveshaft angle and binding

I just swapped a sm465/206 combo in my suburban. It came with what i believe is a 6 inch lift. The new shorter front driveshaft with double cardan joint is binding. Ive replaced the u joints and used the old grinder where i could but it still binds up. Just wondering if there is a solution. Thanks for the help.

That's one of the shorter combos and as you have found, can have trouble with a decent lift. The simple option is to lower the transfer case down about an inch with some spacers, it might be just enough. Or you can bite the bullet and get a custom shaft made. Whether it be a basic shaft with standard yokes at each end, or a fancy pants expensive shaft with a custom high angle joint in place of the stock cardan.

Shoot i just figured it out. The output flange on the 205 is hitting the crossmember. Only one corner is a problem. I installed new mounts but there were no crush sleeves. Maybe i got em to tight, i dunno. Got a bit of room to grind on the flange but not much.
