This guy bought the wrecked Gas Monkey truck from Copart. He has a You Tube Channel and is doing video documentation on the rebuild process.

I'd still like to keep the updates here, but be sure to support his You Tube Channel and drop a few likes on his videos. That'll help him recoup some of his expenses.

He found a donor parts truck. I personally think he paid to much for it, but maybe that's the going price on the East Coast. I know it's a short box, but still, pretty much a $300-$400 truck in OK.

I know this guy don't know this, but I can appreciate all his efforts in trying to avoid forklift damage and commenting on how the forklift operator set it down like a sleeping baby. Little does he know, it's probably already lifted on the forklift 3 or more times and they weren't near as gentle with it. It always cracked me up when I seen requests at Copart by the buyer to not lift it with a forklift. Pfffft, it's already been moved probably 3, 4, 5 or more times with the forklift, so what's 1 more?

I wanted to for the PR but several companies are flat out giving him several thousand dollars worth of parts. I cant compete with that, we are just right up the road from him though so hopefully I can get in on some part of it anyhow.

The more I see of this truck the more I don't like it. If he wanted a square project he should've just fixed up that donor square. That's a much better truck imo.

How much did he pay for the green one I never heard. Who builds a truck with no stereo? Stupid! Gas monkey's about half ******* imo anyway. Lol

Yeah, that makes sense. Hard to give stuff away and hope for some good pub on the back end and then hope that turns into a boost in business. He could use some expertise, though. He knows nothing about squarebodies. Seems to be good at overall diagnosis and that kinda stuff so that's good but he asks some pretty remedial questions in his videos about the squarebody trucks. Last vid from a couple days ago he wasn't sure what a "Custom Deluxe" was when he read the dash plaque. I look forward to seeing his progress on getting this truck back on the road.

I don't think they ever publicized a price of what they sold it for after it was wrecked. The truck he bought has some cancer in it anyway so really he's taking two truck and making them one from the good parts from both. I'll be interested to see if he fix the cab on that green truck. It's got some damage on it that'll be pretty tricky to repair.

I like the color ......Not very useful in the way the truck was built. Just my opinion.

I happened to see the episode when they found/bought the truck (along with the property it was on).
It was in great shape, a survivor, they should have left it alone.
They lost money when it was sold at a charity event after the build, then it lost money at auction.

I followed him before this for a while, he usually does a price breakdown video at the end. So what he paid for it will come out then.

He claims he bought the truck at 74Auto, but that was certainly a Copart facility he picked it up at. Well, I'm 90% certain it was. 74Auto is obviously one of the places that sponsors him and gives up parts. He wears their clothes and mentions them every time he takes a breath between sentences. Maybe that's what I need to do to finally get one of my projects moving. Find me a sponsor. Hell I don't a **** ton. I have all the parts, just need some rebuild kits and items like that.
