Here is where it currently lives. It’s just the right height to tuck in and just the right diameter to not catch on the seat.

Here’s where I was thinking of mounting it in the future.

I just saw these while searching for a fire extinguisher. Aerosol fire extinguisher cans. Wonder if they are any good? It gets really good reviews on Amazon, anyway. Might be able to throw one or two in the glove box

Edit. I dunno. Sounds like it's for putting out the taco fire on the stove

A narrow one can fit horizontally between the door and the seat if you mount it high on the seat hump. Naturally you risk getting the valve beat up by people getting in and out. Another option is on the front of the seat hump at the back of the footwells. Also has a slight risk of getting kicked, but if the valves are placed inboard it's minimal. Unless the extinguisher came with a really good bracket you'll probably have to add a rear support to keep them from twisting out of the brackets during vertical excursions.

If you're going to do it there, I'd consider turning it 90 deg and placing it next to the transfer case selector. Don't forget to move the seat through it's full travel to check for interference before you commit to that location.

Maybe look in boat section of Wal-Mart or outdoors for a small one. I had to have one mounted in my waverunner by law. It had a small one with a rubber strap mounted up front in the compartment.

One thing to consider, as my old man learned by painful experience, there's nothing more frustrating than having the fire extinguisher go out before the fire. He almost lost the Dodge van that way. Fortunately the local fire department responded quickly and got to the fire before the fire got to the truck.

What he said was also frustrating was waving like crazy as the fire truck drove by repeatedly. He finally had to open the door and let the smoke pour out before they would stop. It was kind of Pavlovian.

While the price is a downside, the size, burn time and no maintenance ( beating with a hammer) make it worth the cost.
No affiliation.

While it appears to be very nice to have, I'm really surprised that their add shows NO demonstrations!
All talk, no proof.

If they do work as now advertised, they are still cheaper than the damage repair.

I saw one in use while on a tdy in Australia. I spoke with the guy who used it. They are very common down under and sold in many stores.
