5/7 drop??

Hey guys I’m trying to see if my truck has a 5/7 drop? It rides pretty rough and I’d like to raid it an inch or so to help it ride a little nicer without jumping lanes on bigger bumps. What would be best 1” springs for front and different shackle?Thanks for the help!

Welcome to the site. I don't know. Maybe a 4-6 drop. Do you have a side shot of the truck?

The rear has a flip kit for sure and those are stock length shackles. The bed support has been cut for longer ones like you get in the shackle hanger kit so they may have wanted to go lower in the back and decided against that or had no idea what they were doing. Neither of those will effect the ride. You have shock extenders so that should mean you are on stock shocks in the back which is probably better than the short drop shock ride so no help there either. Your rear springs look like the factory springs too so that should ride like an original truck in the back.

I would focus on the front being where your bad ride is coming from. That looks like a real beefy spring in there and to get that drop it may have been cut and shortened. See if you have dropped spindles because if they got all the drop in the spring, that will be your ride issue. With a drop spindle though you might just need to swap that front spring out for a different spring rate if it's stiff. If it's bouncy then you probably just need shocks. At first glance I would say you have a 4-6 drop. Snap a pic of your front spring hanger and the spindles and we might know a bit more.

I think I can see a front bumpstop and it's close to hitting sitting stil? Maybe try and get a pic of the front of it.

Aso how close is the axle tube to the frame or bumpstop looked like maybe those were cut off but might be close to hitting the frame or actually is hitting.

Just remember the stance is springs and shocks for the ride. I needed and inch after my flipped kit was installed and I got the leaf springs redone and they can do a lot with that rear leaf. The front is a little different.

Hey guys , ran out of time and left for vacation , when I came back I realized the lug nuts are the spline type so I had to order a splined lug socket. I took some pics of the front spindle and spring anyway idk if anyone can tell if these are dropped spindles or not. Thanks for help!

That looks like a drop spindle to me and you are all over that bump stop. Look at how it has busted up the rubber from banging on it. No doubt the age of the rubber is what has caused it to break up but you have been hitting the bump stop for sure. Your front springs must be super short.

Yeah they look super short I’ll have to measure when I get home from work but probably are 7-8” as it sits.

I guess I’ll have to figure where to go next, replace springs but with what (1” lower or 2” lower it stinks not knowing what I’m working with. I’m kind of new with lowering trucks. I lowered my car with drop spindles and kept the front stock springs for a 2” drop and just had to do springs in the rear.
