After doing more research on why my front suspension is so much lower, I discovered the suspension company sent me coil springs from a 63-72 C10, not 73-87. I emailed them pictures and part numbers last night. I'm sure they'll make it right, but it's just frustrating.

I suspect once I get the correct coil springs installed, the front will look better.

Who did you order from? All 63-87 front coil springs are the same....

I bet they sent a 2" spring instead of a 1" one.

I ordered everything from Performance Online. I verified the part number and yes they did send me coil springs from a 63-72, but like bluex mentioned, all the coil springs are the same.

They are only a 1" drop and they're confused why the front is so low. My only solution is to order stock height coils. I'll gain an inch there, plus I'll need to buy new taller tires which will gain me some height. The company is letting me exchange them for free.

My brand new Cooper Cobras will be up for sale in a few weeks.

Do you not like where it is sitting now height wise? I think the front looks good personally. I'd put a drop shackle on the back to get it down another inch an roll with it.

Fyi Western Chassis an POL are the same company now. It stinks because western used to have an awesome sales/support team. POL has always been difficult to deal with imo.

I do like the look, but didn't expect the front to be so low. I guess I didn't realize only 3 1/2" would lower it that much. I know you mentioned that both generations of C-10's use the same coil spring, but I'm curious why POL and other places offer different part numbers and different prices. There is a $10 price difference on POL's site.

So yesterday, I pulled the front tires to take a better look at the coil and it appears the coil isn't properly seated in the pocket. As if it isn't large enough in diameter to fill the pocket. The "pocket" has built in ledges that conform to the shape of the coil and rises with the coil. I've thought about coil spacers or coil isolators that go in the pocket, below the coil, but I don't know if that'll work with these lower control arms and coils.

Is it possible the 63-72 coils are the same height, but not the same diameter as the 73-87?

Definitely will be calling POL Monday morning to ask about how these coils appear to fit in the LCA pockets.

Any thoughts out there?

With those aftermarket arms they aren't going to fill that pocket.

I can't tell you why POL gas different part numbers. The companies I'm familiar with sell one spring for 63-87. They are all the same size.

You can try moving the spring around to see if it fits better but it also has a locator on the top an it only fits in it one way. If that's seated correctly then there really isn't anything you can do for it.

You can always put your stock spring back in. At this point in its life it's likely the same as a 1" drop spring anyhow.

This has helped me A LOT! I am looking at buying the CCP coil over front end kit that is adjustable from 1-3". I figured it replaces everything and I can adjust the height on the spot to what looks good. thoughts?
