Hood ornaments

What models or years did GM put hood ornaments on these trucks?

Silverado trim level (YE9) and/or two tone paint job (ZY5 specifically).

Also on diesel models.

In the late 70's it was part of an exterior decor group, I believe. The trucks with the hood stripes.

We had an 81 or 82 c10 on the farm with a 6.2 in it and it had a hood ornament.

Every square I've ever owned had one. My 87 Burb is a Silverado and my 87 GMC longbed was a Sierra Classic. My 84 K5 was also a Silverado. I never noticed that some do not have them to be honest. Most people I've known have had later trucks though I didn't pay attention to the round eyes in my life, I was too young notice that stuff on my dad's K5 when I was a kid and the chick I briefly dated with the lifted K20, well let's just say I was focusing on other things when I was in her truck

All I know is my '77 is a Scottsdale and my '91 is an SLE and neither of them came with a hood ornament. I have tossed around putting one on the dually, though LOL

My '78 has YE9 & ZY4 (two-tone paint)... its never had one.
It's a conundrum.

I don't recall the '87 I took apart having one. It was a Silverado, and two tone.

They've always seemed random to me.

However lately I've been toying with the idea of getting some batwing trinket off an Oldsmobile or something and just slapping it on my hood, haha

My 78 big ten is a silverado with two tone and a hood ornament. Always wanted to put the cadillac style godess on it instead.
