Hi, I am new here. Been reading through a lot of the posts and finally have a question to ask!

I bought a set of 04 Yukon seats to put in my 82 Suburban. Doing research I found that if you hook up the large orange and black wires, all seat functions work but the heated seats and memory. Well, I could get the passenger side to work just fine but the driver side didn't.... I disconnected the power for the motors and tested all of them individually and they work, so running through the memory unit isn't working. I bought a memory unit from Ebay and am awaiting its arrival.

Next day I come across another set of seats for 30 a piece and grab them up... they are 01 Tahoe seats, same functions.... Yet again the drivers seat doesn't work hooking up the orange and black wires, but jumping the motors does. Both seats worked before pulling out of the truck and the harnesses were unplugged, not just cut. Am I missing something with these drivers seats?

I also grabbed the memory and heated seat switch for the Tahoe seats, will wiring that up somehow help?

I know this is pretty technical, any info would help though. If I have to I will just wire up each individual motor to an on off on switch, but would rather use the seat switches if I can.

Welcome to the site. Would the seat memory, heat, and etc. go through the BCM? I don't know its just a thought.

Thanks guys. It runs through the ecm with a serial. Probably why it doesn't work, but everywhere online says to just hook up the black and orange wires. Well, Doing a bit more research, I think I am just going to rewire the switch directly to the motors. If it works, I am going to try and do a detailed instruction as searching the net is proving to be tiresome.

Square 1:

Some seats have a power seat 'module'. You may need that to have fully functioning seats.
I've found no info of use on the memory function.

Here's what you need for the memory function and, if you don't have it, why all of your functions are inoperative.

I do have that, it is underneath. I will do more investigating tonight. Think I am just going to repin the connector for the controls and power the motors like the passenger side. Seems like a fun tedious job!

I had power buckets from a 98ish pickup/tahoe/burb and they were plug and play. Just throwing that out there if you come across something from that era in good shape.

Well, I stole the wiring harness off of the extra passenger seat I had, and everything was plug and play, except for the plug going into the switches. I had to repin those, basically opp hand of what it was.
