Time for a short throw shifter. Also have a bunch more bracing to install.

Window regulators did not work on it, so started with driver side. At first seen the plastic holder broken, which is an easy fix. But then found frayed cable, and that is a lot more painful of a fix that is less likely to be successful. Ordered new regulators and stainless cable as well in case I can get it fixed. Installed front frame brace with some hammering for it to clear a fan connector and also swapped a CD changer from a different radio, and now original is fully functional. No USB, but can hold 6 mp3 CDs with random function. Did not see the random function on the USB capable radio.(USB radio was too loud as it came from a non amp car)

Third gen drove out to a real tuner after I got it tuned enough to drive.

Solstice is mostly back together, except for the window regulator waiting on parts. The shifter pivot change makes for a really nice short throws.

Pulled a trigger on a set of OZ Ultraleggera light wheels for way more money than I should spend on this car. Hopefully will not be regretting too much.

I don't have $500 for a direct replacement intercooler, so will have to make this one work. Closest that I could find, from cx racing for 1g eclipse.

Looks like the intercooler should adapt easy. What's the pipe attached to the stock intercooler?

Was actually thinking if need to transfer it. Factory had condensation issue inside of the intercooler on first cars made and that was their fix.

Window motor installed and working. When out of the car the cable looked to be straight enough to not rub on the replacement guide, but after install was clear that should have made it out of poly material if it is the place where it makes a bit of noise. Maybe needed thicker grease at the gear. Left it alone for now. It is a major pain to actually wind the cable and have it go through all the rollers as the tension is held tight with two springs.

A friend asked to help installing a low miles 5.0 ho motor in to his truck (all ford), and after quick visual told him to better take it apart before trying to install. Turned out to be 86 motor(worst heads for 302) and pretty much wore out everything.
Promptly found a relatively fresh block for $150 and going to build on that one.

Final test fit, and it tucks in after welding it all up. Now need to make some sort of screen to replace where the factory portion of the bumper broke off. Shifter feels good, ride feels more predictable in the corner(bracing helped or might just that I want it to be better feeling) and feels like it gained a bit of pick up with maybe even 1 or 2 psi less of boost after intercooler change. And the parking in the lines as it used to be a bicycle spot that been moved with lines just staying.

Changed the window regulator on passenger side. Did not do a rebuild on the old one like I did on driver side but looks like that is all it needs. Kept it for a spare. Also have 3 bar sensors installed.

Decideded to do the water pump as it leaked a bit one more time. The holding tool I was using had a surround around one of the bolts and I mistakenly assumed it was designed so the bolt would not fall in to the engine. So I made zero effort on trying to get that one bolt out carefully as the tool should hold it. That was a mistake. After spending about 35min with flexi thing holding a piece of magnet ripped out of the old hard drive I got my bolt back. The water pump came out ok. When putting new one in, the bolt closest to the block on the cover is almost impossible to get. Took almost 4.5hrs but it is back to running.
Access to bolts is super tight, but I left exhaust and turbo alone.
