Original rear brake lines, you don't see that around here. You can even see where there used to be a label on the diff cover. I wonder what it used to say?

That is by far the best rear diff made by GM. Easy to set up gears in it too.

I need to replace the passenger side axle. Seal surface is worn and leaking.

It's a full floater, so the axle shaft doesn't ride on the seal. The seal is in the back of the hub and rides on the spindle.

It keeps eating seals on that side. 3rd one in 18 months.

Are you talking about the hub seal? You may have a bearing or a spindle problem.

* Which is pretty much what bucket said. Sorry for not reading thoroughly.

There might be a nick or gouge on the seal surface that can be removed with a file. If it's too badly damaged, you can get a Speedy Sleeve for it I think.

It would be no big deal at all if there is a 2-piece type HD seal available, like what the big trucks use. But I'm not aware of any.
