If you don't get it I will! All kidding aside, get the truck. Put in a 292. The 3 speed will be just fine. I'm serious, GET THE TRUCK!

I went and got it. I’ve never tackled rust before, and I’m a little scared, but it doesn’t seem to be bad, and I was scared to let a 67-72 for a three figure price tag get out of my grasp. We’ll see how it goes. The guy said a spare coil he has made it run and drive so I should be able to get it running one day in time for cornflakes. The manual steering is new to me, but if it becomes a bit much, I’ll swap in a plant with PS. Also, that’s the spare on the front driver’s. The wheel had a long ago blowout, and that’s the one in the bed.

That rear bumper is funky. The pic from the rear where you can't see the fenders makes it look like it sticks out a mile.

The engraving on it says “THOMPSON FORD CO. MORTON MISS.”

I like it, it’s very cool. No brakes getting it off the trailer. That should be fun.

I like the truck a lot. I think it’ll serve me well for my needs. It’ll probably be a more Fred Sanford type thing when I first get it going, but once I’m doing well and making the big bucks, I can give it a more premium treatment.

I'm not ragging on it, it is a very interesting bumper. The angle of the pic just made it seem like it's out there in no man's land. Well, maybe a little **** for the Ford stamping in it and the fact there's no place for a license plate. Hell, screw the plate over the Ford stamping and it's a win win. You apparently don't need license plate lights in Mississippi since the plate has just been screwed to the tailgate for what looks like forever.
Project should keep ya busy.

Did they even have lamps for the plate on the trucks in '71? Iirc, '68 was the first year for reverse lights.

My 67 had reverse lights, 64 did not though. I had a 3 speed behind a 350 in the 67 and had zero problems for many years.

Do you know if the reverse lights were optional that first year? I keep thinking that they weren't standard until '68 or 9.

Looks like they were standard starting in ‘66.
