So I'm getting close to done swapping a 454 in place of my 350. I'm hitting a snag on the accessory bracket/belt situation. I just got a set up from a tbi 454 where the power steering pump and alternator are on the same bracket. The belt tensioner is on that bracket as well. The dilemma is I have a standard rotation water pump, because I thought I could go with a v belt set up. So I need to know if there is any way to route a belt, and keep that water pump. Will that one tensioner have enough strength to hold the ribbed side of the belt on the water pump without any of the ac/smog delete pulleys? So my belt would run ribbed side on the crank, water pump, backside on tensioner, ribbed on power steering and the back to the crank. Picture should be attached.

I doubt there would be enough contact area on the water pump, especially with the ribs facing it.

Why not just get the right water pump? They are cheap
