Two tone to address rock chips

Just as the title states. I’d like ideas on a color to paint the lower part or my truck to address the rock chips. I’m thinking it’d be too difficult to match the existing and I definitely don’t want to paint in the cab at this point.

Truck is GMs finest light beige, lol. Not my favorite color, but it is what it is. Having trouble visualizing what might look okay. I have a couple ideas, but I’d like to see what you guys think.

Pics of suggestions definitely welcome.

Something like a black or certain shades of green would look pretty good. If we're looking for more OEM type colors I've seen red paired with that color on squares.

I agree with either the red or green ideas. Are you looking to have the lower portion bedlinered? I know Line-X can match or make a custom color.

Didn’t know line-x specifically color matched, but I’d thought about color matched bed liner.

How difficult would it be to remove when I get motivated enough the pull the truck back apart in a few years to do all the body work and respray?

When I do get that motivation (after my wife’s project) I was thinking deep forest green, but I don’t want that to influence any suggestions right now...

Line X is extremely hard to remove once it's on there.

I was thinking dark green before I got to your thought. That would be a very good choice IMO

My wife suggested just a slightly darker tint of what’s on the truck now, which would basically be tan.

I’m leaning towards that or some shade of lightish to mediumish green I guess.

I need to track down some decent single stage near me or drive to Nevada to get it.

Yeah, once line-x bedliner is applied, it's there to stay. It's an epoxy base, so it would be like removing that from sheetmetal.

I should’ve done the whole thing when I had it apart, but my buddy who used to do body work doesn’t anymore. The thought of shelling out $5-10k right now didn’t seem responsible vs investing it into business. The thought crossed my mind momentarily, but I had to come back to earth.

Priorities always get in the way of fun.

Some sort of tan or green seem the best option.

Did someone mention before the uv resistance, or lack thereof with Rust-Oleum professional?

My 84 GMC has the cream color on the cab roof with the GM light saddle for the rest of the truck. You could just reverse that and put the light saddle down below.

A dark navy blue wouldn't look bad either, I think.
