1 inch lift enough for cab swap?

Hello All,
Not sure where to post this. I have a 2wd cab to be placed on a 4wd frame. will a one-inch lift be enough to clear the transmission and transfer case? I want to make sure before ordering body lift and cab mounts.
Also, has anyone done this where there is a link to it? or tell me the best way to measure

You can just swap out your center hump for a deeper one.

You can do a one inch body lift cheap with hockey pucks and longer bolts

But probably need new cab mount rubber too

I have a deeper center hump, but the rear of it won't match up with the floorboard it sits higher. The center portion of the floorboard in the new cab is lower back to where the seat starts.
Any suggestions to make it work? or am I not doing it right? here is a pic

I did the 2wd cab onto a K30 frame without a body lift. The K30 was a column shift automatic with a np205.

Depends on the transfer case as well...

And don't use hockey pucks... they are too hard, they will only get harder and eventually crumble.

I'll for sure get new Polyurethane mounts and a one-inch lift in addition to cutting out the center hump.

I'd try measuring before guessing and installing something you don't need. You might find it all fits without a body lift. Just foot for thought.

I too have heard of 2wd auto cabs working without body lift and without welding in the high hump. It was tight and IIRC, it was the NP208 transfer case. And NP205 might fit too, but I doubt a NP203 would without body lift. 1 inch should do it and give you a little space too so it's not so tight. I'd try to install it as is and see what you come up with, then install the body lift if you still want it or feel you need it. You might decide to go 2in even but I'd consider that the utmost max.

I am in the process of the same swap (79 2WD cab in place of the original 77 4WD cab). I have both cabs sitting side-by-side in the shop. So I have the advantage of comparing them. Besides the bolt on taller hump/cover, there is a section of the cab that is different as well. It appears the factory 4WD cab floor is cut out and a separate piece is spot welded in. This additional piece makes up the (height) difference your picture shows. I will take a pic later today and post it.

Iirc, the 80's 2wd cabs have the higher hump under the seat that matches up with the 4x4 style trans hump.

Here a few pics of the 77 4WD cab. The first pic shows the bolt on tunnel 'hump' sitting in place. The second pic shows the portion of the floor pan that is cut out at the factory and the different (4WD) section that is spot welded in. I intend to drill out the spot welds and transfer this section over to the 79 2WD cab (along with the bolt on hump section).
