a while back I purchased a Dorman a/c delete pulley. The pulley sat 3/16” further back than all the other pulleys. I’d shimmed it out with a race from behind the bearing for mock up, but I can’t find a race the right ID/OD to fit the bolt and inner race of the pulley bearing for support. Not to mention the pulley is plastic.

I decided to run an a/c compressor as a stand in even though the truck doesn’t have a/c and I don’t plan on ever having it. Another member pointed out that I can use it as an on-board air compressor down the road. I bought a new air compressor that hasn’t come yet, but put this old one to check belt length... and sure enough, the pulley on the compressor is slightly larger than that of the a/c delete.

The gap from the tensioner’s “stop” to the belt is 3/16”. Is this enough clearance? Will a new belt stretch a little right off the bat? Or do I need the next size up? I already chucked the cardboard sleeve for this one so it’s not returnable.

Thanks

I'd be happy with that. The belt will wear in a little bit with some run time.
