I'm needing help with a mechanical 6.2 litre diesel and 4L80E to work together. I have a TCU waiting harness for a gas motor just needing help making it shift since there is no tach to tell it when to shift. Any advice would be great.

Either add your own cam/crank sensor or look for gm 91-94 2500 trucks with diesel for parts.

What about using Dakota digital guages and the tach kit from Dakota digital for my 6.5 diesel and 4l80e combo

Your probably better off using a standalone transmission controller. I've used several PCS Simply Shift kits. They work well and user friendly. There are many others on the market, PCS is just what I'm familiar with. If your are trying to use an OEM controller and harnesses it's going to need some modifications. If it's even possible.
