Spindle and rotor issue

I have an 85 C10.
I bought a set of spindles from Chassis tech.
I figured while I was at it I might as well get new Rotors, bearings, seals etc...

Upon assembly there is an issue and Im not sure if the Spindle is wrong or if its the rotor etc..

It seems like the slot in the threaded portion of the spindle isnt cut deep enough so the outer washer is bottoming out before the nut is tight enough to hold the bearing properly.

I also bought a new washer and nut kit and it looks like the castle nut will be below the hole for the cotter pin making it useless at stopping the nut from turning.

It really looks even 1 washer thickness would cure the issue so its close but not correct.
Maybe just tolerance stacking ?

The spindles, bearings and rotors are both the 1.25" variety.
A-3 and A-5 bearings.

Any ideas ?

My best guess here is that when the spud was pressed in it was pushed slightly too far...

If you hold the bearings and everything in place with one hand, and spin the rotor with the other, does it spin free and smooth?

yep. Spins great.

I ground out a large washer from the nut and bolt bin just to test it and with the extra thickness and it seems fine.
I just dont like the idea of an extra washer in there.

I also tried the same bearings and rotor on the other spindle from the kit and its good to go as is.

If they cant get me a replacement quickly ( or the replacement is the same ) I may just clearance another spindle washer to clear the step and TIG it to the un modified one so it wont spin and run it.
I think it would be fine but I still dont like it.

I should have bought higher end parts it seems. Ive run their stuff in the past without issue but I guess you only get lucky so many times...
