hi all,

I got a dumb question regarding the shift boot retainer on 78 K-20 Sm465/np 205. I know the shift knob had the stick figure with four tires, sorry that’s the best way I could put it. But was there anywhere that the shift pattern was printed? Like on the retainer like on a 203? I’m curious

Maybe I was wrong then. I always thought the 205 had that knob as well.

My 78 has the stick figure and then there is a plate that is between the ring that holds the boot and boot to the floor that shows the shift pattern.

Not my interior but it looks like this...

That's interesting and obviously I was wrong.

My '80 K10 Custom Deluxe had the pattern on the knob and nothing around the boot retainer. I wonder if it's trim level related?

I saw a picture on google, didn't save it though, where there were 6-7 different style of knobs for chevys from 67-91 np205s. It looked like they changed them every 3-5 years. I never knew that. 91 even had a note to set the parking brake when in neutral.

It show that my style was from 76-78 so your 80 would be different.

Update: found the image... I don't know how accurate this is though...

The knob on my 86 K30 is consistent with the sample knob ob the far right - except no e-brake warning:
