I put the fitech on my 82 350 motor has some work done to it but it came alive with it on there, truck sat for about a year, I primed it a few times and fired up like a new car

Sorry to hijack the thread (although my question probably still DOES somewhat apply to the original question), but
Which engine, the crate 357 or the 383HT, do you think would be faster in the 1/4 in say, a chevette?

The 357 has a little more hp, but but less torque. It seems to be more of a hi-revver than the 383?

The 357 seems similar to the 383 except wilder cam and less cubes? The 357 doesn't seem like it will idle as smooth as the 383 with a cam like that?

The 383 should idle REAL smooth and have more bottom end?

Didn't see it mentioned. If externally balanced you need BOTH externally balanced harmonic balancer and flexplate/flywheel. Check with seller to determine external or internally balanced.
