Pushed a lot of snow with a 292 working for the highway department in my home town with a C30 one ton dually.

I drove (daily) a ‘67 elCamino with a mid-‘70’s 454 fo r several years before selling it a decade or so ago.

Why would you even consider doing a 6 cylinder when you have the big block? I'm not bashing, I just can't imagine going to all the work and expense to do the 6 cylinder when you will have twice the power with the big block. A good running big block will drag the truck around so much easier and it will be much more pleasurable to use. Just my .02

As with the start of any good project it is currently still in the planning, parts gathering, get it road worthy (for the least cash outlay) stage.
It has a 250 6/3-speed now...
If I don’t run across someone with more money than I can say no to - it’s a good bet it’ll end up big block powered.
