I have a plow truck that the previous owner had a carburetor backfire and melted a bunch of under hood wiring. The connector on the wiper motor is melted and I would like to replace it. The wiper motor moves really slow and does not park properly.
Please find enclosed pictures of the wiper motor and pigtail. The damaged one is at the top of the motor.
I presume it is causing a large voltage drop as the insulation is melted. The terminals at the motor are in decent condition. Is the top harness for the motor or the pump?
Is very slow motor speed typical of the wiper motor?
Thank you in advance.

Pak Con II at the motor Park plug and Packard 56 Male at the firewall plug. I believe the original is 14ga SXL wire... Probably 16" or so... Gray and Black with a Blue Tracer. The GM wiring diagrams will tell you.

If you have the tooling it's a matter of less than 5 minutes to make one up...

Mouser Electronics carries the terminals. You can re-use the connector shells.

Again the wiring diagrams are your buddy. The connector pinouts are in the wiring diagrams.

GM wipers on these rigs switch the ground and power the wiper motor from the ignition switch.

What let the smoke out of the Park wiring?

The Gray wire on the RUN plug isn't burnt.

The truck had a carburetor back fire based on the round burn mark on the hood.

Hatzie, I looked on mouser.com and I was not able to find the Pak Con II or Packard 56 by using their search engine. Could you post a link?
I did learn that Dephi has spun off it self driving vehicle division to Aptiv corporation.

PM me-I have what you need in stock. That little 2-cavity connector is obsolete from Delphi/Aptiv. The terminals are equally obsolete and getting tuff to find. If you’d rather I make up a new wiper motor/washer pigtail set I can do that as well.
