I'm glad you saved this car from that guy...but how's it goin mr c20 burb?

Brake spring?

Nuttin at all with the Camaros lately. My spare time has been spent on the Burb since it's my current DD when I'm home. I think I'll be home this winter though, so the '79 should see some rust repair and parts painting. The '86 awaits the brake spring, a new ecm chip, and a new fuel pump. I really miss driving it, it's a real hoot.

Holy crap, I worked on the Camaro! Lol.

I prepped the radiator support for primer and paint, but then realized I had used most of my primer and all of my black paint. So I only got one side of it kinda half ass coated in primer.

So then I turned my focus to scraping all the seam sealer and butyl from the firewall. I had already started in the passenger side at this point:

I didn't realize going in that GM had sprayed a butyl type sealer on EVERY screw hole, grommet hole and seam in the firewall. I guess they were really concerned about leaks. But lots and lots of scraping and scrubbing later, it's about ready for final sanding. A 3M stripper wheel and a can of reducer were a big part in this.

No real update, but I finally remembered to get a copy of the engine's dyno sheet. Looks like a fairly decent power band.

That was the sheet supplied by Blueprint Engines, I have no idea what carb they used. It just says it was a 600 cfm. The intake is a dual plane, air-gap type that's supposed to be what it was dynoed with. I assumed they used a vacuum secondary type and the opening rate needed dialed in better. That's just my guess though.

Been getting back into this finally. I've got the Detroit Speed clutch master bracket fitted to the firewall. The goal is to have s factory-ish appearance, so I'm going to spot weld it on from the inside, then use seam sealer around the outside.

Thanks to @yevgenievich I've got a C6 Corvette brake setup coming my way. It's going to require 18" wheels for clearance, so I measured out the rear tub so I know how wide of a rim I can stuff in the back. I rigged up a gauge to simulate a 18"x10" with a 295/35 tire, using a 6" backspacing. It cleared to the inside but had more clearance to the outside, so a 5.75" backspacing should work well.

If I removed the seatbelt humps and removed the flange in the upper wheel well arch, I'm confident a 10.5" rim would fit with maybe even a 335 width tire. That would be awesome, but at that point, the tire and wheel package cost goes up substantially.
