Was it a 231 and did it have a 27 spline output? I don't remember what the S10's got.

I gotta keep a close watch on this, I may have to track down a 205 and do this to make vss work.

I've been having trouble finding a 2 pulse or 2000 ppm generator or speedo sending unit to work with.

I checked jegs and summit and most are 16 or 8, not 2

I did find one on jagsthatrun though.

still a good topic, I wonder if you can do the same to a 208?

so to recap

i used a reluctor ring and sensor from a 241

the reluctor ring needed to be trimmed to the same width as the speedo drive gear.

and i had a local machine shop machine the flat spot and drill and tap the hole.

the flat spot sets the gap between the sensor and the reluctor ring. the gap should be .010 to .012.

the speedo cable hloe needs to be pluged

i got the reluctor ring and sensor for free so all that this cost me was 75 bucks for the machine work.

I did this back in 2013 when very few people had thought it up. Now there are at least three companies like off road design north west fabworks and other offering to do the machine work to do this. Lol
