Sorry to have not posted on here in a long time.... life got in the way. Actually, been working on bringing my side project, www.beatnikbrotherhood.com www.facebook.com/thebeatnikbrotherhood to the front burner.... but anywhoo...

I had to reinspect the 'Burb (I've owned it a whole year now!) last month, and had it gone over.

While changing the oil, my mechanic said he noticed my radiator fins were pretty blocked up and he recommended I change the radiator when I got a chance. Not two weeks later, I noticed it was bubbling coolant out of the relief in the radiator cap, so I decided to let him change it out when he inspected it.

He said he replaced it with a heavy duty cooling radiator (for 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, perhaps?) and while he was doing the inspection he said it needed rear brake pads.

BECAUSE THEY WERE THE ONES FROM THE FACTORY! That's right, 60K miles on factory rear brakes! He said he could tell, because the factory brakes had a little push washer, like a chinese finger trap, that had to be broken off to replace, and they were still there.

So I got new brakes on the back, and had him change plugs and wires on it too (if you remember, it was one of the first things I bought for the 'burb when I got it, but after a year, had never gotten around to tinkering with it to do myself....

AND THEY WERE THE FACTORY WIRES! That's right, 26 year old spark plug wires, and it was still getting over 17 mph! With new plugs and wires (which my mechanic painstakingly put back in the factory harness clips and locations) it bumped it up to 17.8 mph!

So, I'm ridin' high in style, still lovin' on my truck.

Mike

Finally bit the bullet and ordered the rest of the stuff to update my stereo system. The equalizer is failing and I only have one side. Got 5 1/4" speakers for the door. The rear speakers are still in good working order.
