    I crawled back under her and snagged some pics of the driver's side of that crossmember and it does have a dip but only in the front like it's tapered for a left hand diff. I didn't think gm had any left hand front diffs.

    I hadn't thought of it being backwards, could explain a few things even though it bolted up right nice. I salvaged this as a rolling chassis from a junk yard years ago and it had no driveline or crossmember in it originally.

    Brake light connector should be orange and white. The white should be coming from the steering column harness and orange should be headed to the fuse block.

    If that 1st pic you posted was the majority of what you're dealing with and you don't want to or have access to a sand blaster.... If it were me I'd hit the rusty spts with a wire wheel for a 4" angle grinder to get to bare metal the fastest I picked up the wheel at harbor freight for around $12...

    I rolled on rustoleum truck bed liner on my k5 floor after i patched a bunch of holes. I just used the cheaper non-pro version as it's a floor and no need for the extra durability with the same rust protection.
