    I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but wanted to make sure. I have a chance to get a stock set of wheels from a 1992 Chevy 3/4 ton and wanted to make sure they will fit my '85 K20. I'm thinking I am good, just making sure.

    I just installed the Dakota Digital VHX in my '85 and love it. Install was very straight forward and the gauges look very nice(I'll get some pics loaded shortly). They are a bit spendy, but to me they were worth the money.

    Well, my problem is solved. I exchanged my alternator, put a new positive battery cable on and removed all of the paint from the alternator bracket contact points. I can turn the headlights on and have the blower motor on high and get very little voltage drop(about .2 volts) What a relief...

    I'll get some pictures when I get off of work tonight. Another question, should I be running a 94 amp alternator or a 78 amp? The parts house is calling for the 78 amp, but shows a 94 amp option. The truck came with A/C, but it's disconnected. It does have a couple of 500 watt amps in it though.

    So, I have traced the wires from the alternator to the starter solenoid, everything looks ok there. I started tracing the bundle of wires going from the brown "exciter" wire and red BAT wire goes behind the block and into a bundle of wires. I'm new to the wiring and square body life. Is there a...

    So, I'm trying to diagnose an electrical problem on my sons 85 k20. I replaced the alternator and was checking it to make sure it was charging, at idle it was at 13.8 volts as soon as I turned the blower motor to high it went down to 12.3, is that normal for that amount of drop?

    So, what type of modifications did you do to get your '85 to a single headlight system? I'm new to the square body scene, just trying to educate myself.

    Has anyone done the 4x6 Truck-Lite LED in their 4 headlight system? If so, do they mount up correctly or do you have to do any modifications? I'm looking at putting a set in my '85, just curious as to what I may be in for.
