Yeah Shakey, having the same thoughts on the 327,Muncie 4 speed I'm putting in my Grandson's S10. Looking at a mechanical linkage, but also thinking about rigging up a bracket for the hydraulic to work. Trial and error!!!!

Yes sir Perry, was looking at an old slave and regular bell housing, figure if there is room it wouldn't be a hard fab up.... If there is room in the truck?? Haven't studied that yet. Also wonder if the slave shaft and seal could stand "living outside" or if it needs to be enclosed???

Currently with the 4 cyl,5 speed the main cylinder AND the slave are "exposed" so I don't think that's a big deal. Also the slave is mounted "backwards" as opposed to the mechanical that we are used to. It pushes from the rear forward with the fork hinging on the passenger side. I think there is enough room to mount a bracket of some sort off of the bellhousing or possibly off of the pivot ball holes in the block, or a combination of both. Have not looked at it closely yet, trying to get all my parts in hand. Too many things to do, New engine for my square, build the 396 for my son's Nova, just not quite enough time in the day for me. PLUS. I'm old and ...SLOW and I wear out fast, so I have to stop and drink BEER!!!!!

Here is pic of the Z bar in my 77 after a NV4500 install. From looking at your pic, it does look like the clutch fork is the issue. I did need to fab a push rod to make it work. Notice that the clutch fork Advance Adapters sent for this install has two positions, one for a hydraulic slave cylinder (inner) and the other for the manual linkage (outer). Also needed to modify the Z bar frame bracket in order to move Z bar mounting point forward about a 1/2 inch to keep everything in line.

that is '72-older style fork, all these factory truck iron forks had two spots exact same. nothing to do with hydraulic anything. here is one i have from a 1969 C10.

where did you find the rod and wedge hole piece to fit the fork arm? i woud like to use this fork and these pieces when i swap to 4 speed in my 75,, if the fork will work with a '73-up alum bell anyways.. i dont know what bell you are running.

I believe you are asking about the tapered wedge nut. Part number 716139, approximately $20 from Summit. I made the push rod out of some all thread. Hope this helps.
