The truck I just picked up has mint floors and supports, but both bed sides are pretty rough. I have seen all the patches available and could go that route if I have to. But I started looking for complete replacement bed sides. Goodmark lists them for roughly $900 per side. I also saw them on Classicparts.com for about $400, but of course they also say Out of Stock.

So, are they available from anywhere other than Goodmark without giving up a lung or major organ?

I also wonder why the long bed sides are so readily available and not the short beds? Seems odd. Not saying long beds are unpopular, but they seem to be a little less so then short beds. At least here in the north east anyway.

Basic rules of economic capitalism. Short beds are way more popular (not that I understand why, if I'm buying a truck, I want the whole truck, not just 6' of the bed), so they take advantage and charge more. I've read other people mention a seemingly constant out of stock condition on panels before. The common thought being that the aftermarket metal is all stamped by the same manufacturer for all the different vendors. Which would explain the commonly poor quality among them. I have heard people praise Goodmark before, for being a better quality, and would hope the price per panel being more than double would reflect that.

I've installed a couple Goodmark cowl hoods before, they were delivered in the same type of packing as any other Taiwan-made body panel. Fit was ok. From my little bit of experience with them, it's no different from anything else you can buy. Some are ok, some are less than ok.
