Not a circuit breaker, just a terminal block to hook multiple wires.

As @Turbo4whl says it is a junction block

There would normally be two fusible links from that junction feeding the fuse box (bulkhead) located at the far right of the firewall.

It's only a junction block without any protection feature. Old folklore misnomer that won't die. But it is a great place to tap in for an auxiliary fuse block.

On my camper special there is a wire from that junction over to a relay on the fender. That relay is used to charge the aux battery and/or power the camper.

The camper relay connects the aux battery to the alternator when the truck is running, but then isolates the aux battery when you turn off the ignition. It prevents you from running down the main battery when the truck is turned off and you are using the camper.

Not that setup specifically, but I run z case fuses on my vehicles. Haven’t ever had issues.

Edit: If you decide to go a non-stock route, stick to name brand components. For instance, you previously used the term circuit breaker. For automotive circuit breakers I would only use Blue Sea Systems or someone similarly reputable. You need that fuse or breaker to open at the time and current rating that it stated to, and there’s no guarantees with Amazon components.

Yes, but...

I made the switch because I was doing a shaved firewall, added a metric ton of electronics and the truck is not a daily driver otherwise I would have kept them. Fusible links are a pretty stout and reliable way of fusing, If you are going to swap fuse types try to get something that burns slowly.

IIRC
fuse block relocated to passenger side wheel well near the frame
0 Ga from the fuse block to battery
4 Ga from alternator with 175 amp fuse
4 Ga to the fuse box with ?? amp fuse
4 Ga to the stereo amp with 60 amp fuse
8 Ga to fans with a 60 amp fuse

MAXI fuses are designed to replace fusible links, not sure about MIDI or or mega.
even then, they are engineered differently so you wouldnt use equivalent ratings between them or size wires youd have to be much more subject matter expert to be able to confidently replace it on your own
