This line connected inside the cab to this tow assist contraption I removed. I didn’t have a plug so I just cut the line and crimped it. I’d like to throw a 3/8 plug in there…what kind of end does this line have? I deal with NPT, 37 degree flare, orb/straight thread a lot at my job but don’t know what I’m dealing with here.

Should be a double inverted flare. American grease stick among others should have plugs.

If you do not plan on ever using that brake controller just remove the block and screw the brake line directly into the master cylinder.

That didn’t even occur to me that the brass block could be removed. Great suggestion, thanks!

Great suggestion, y’all are great, thank you!
the master cylinder not having a provision probably means its not meant to support an auxillary use like a trailer brake controller anyway

The ones that support them have an auxillary plug on them already

For @tophat36, yes just remove the brass tee. And we’ve gone through this before regarding brake function and old hydraulic brake controllers. Just like your brakes weren’t affected by it, neither are others. It’s just not a thing now, nor was it when those old controllers were actually being used.

Got the brass tee removed and the brake line reconnected, thanks guys!

How full should the master cylinder be? I noticed the front chamber was lower than the rear one, but I don’t know what is too low.

No, I was also commenting on your post. But should have said “her” brakes, not “your.” Because you’ve gotten hung up on your opinion about this type of brake controller hookup before.
Just confirming for others that it’s not an issue. And also largely irrelevant since that style of controller has been virtually extinct for decades. Was ripping those out and replacing with electric controllers in the late 80s.

Next time, dont needlessly lie or try to start drama in a thread.
I only tacked onto the conversation because it was brought up.
Maybe I could have better responded to lego directly. But it doesnt matter. Because it never went further. She had no questions, and the topic was just fine.
The way lego worded it , could be construed that hes aware of a trailer brake controller on her truck existing.

Why aren't you saying the same thing to him?

Perhaps its because you have an unhealthy obsession with starting things whenever Im in the same thread as you.
I havent even spoken to you in weeks-months, and you just felt the need to pick an issue with me here. Id not care about you bringing this up if you had in good faith tagged lego about it.

I usually kept levels about 1/4" to 3/8" below opening (rear walls) with M/C gasket pushed back up if "popped".
