so I think I tossed one of my wiper arms in the trash. I found a 79 k10 in the junkyard bu minus it's wiper arms. Do the next generation of Chevy truck wiper arms work on squarebodyies? Has Anybody try it?

As far as I know, the years of wiper arms to look for are from 1973-84. They changed some in 1985 through the 1991 squares and considerably for the GMT400s. That pretty much goes for the whole wiper/washer system. A new one from LMC will run you $17-$18 plus shipping.

I know LMC has some but tack on shipping and now it's a $26 wiper arm. Looking for more cost effective alternatives.

I hear you. If you could find an early 80s square in the junkyard, that would be your best bet. I just don't think that anything will work outside of that year range.

The wiper arm for a 1984 CK 1,2,3 was only used for that year. The part number for the wiper arm prior to that (81 -83) was 14032715. After 1984 (85 -91) the part number was 15522766.

I can't tell you what the difference is - I'm not familiar with the wipers on a 84. But it probably has something to do with the washer nozzles. Before 84 the nozzles were located under the cowling and sprayed up onto the windshield in just one spot. Later models had the nozzles built into the tips of the arms - so the washer fluid was sprayed over a larger area as the wiper arms stroked back/forth.

Or it may be something else, like the spline count on the drive pinion for example.

Anyway, any arm from 81 -83 will fit your truck.
