A TH350 will eat about 30 to 35 HP and a 400 about 45 to 50.
400 is heavier and more reciprocating mass.
A stout built TH350 should satisfy you. One with something like an RV setup.

So I went the th400 route and I've been learning to rebuild it with one of the local shops. The 400 came out of a humvee and I've heard that humvee trannies won't work in a square body is that true?

Everyone here tries to help legitimately.
The few times it comes off the wall is because someone asks without thinking and they become 'owned'.

Too many are looking for the quick, cheep, free and easy.
Welcome to the real world. Mommy and daddy ain't going to give you a blank check.

We're all glad to help here and enjoy doing it.
We're a great on-line team.
We do what we can.

It's up to the 'questioners' to think for themselves because we cannot do that for them.

What path they choose to ameliorate their situation has consequences that they will have to learn to deal with, good or bad.

We can only do so much.

Then we either shake our heads, or party.

Well, he asked for advice and opinions and made up his own based on that info given. We don't know what happen outside the forum that influenced his decision either. It is what it is, we did our part.

Now questions are, what about Transfer case? That same T case on the Th350 isn't going to work without input modification from 27 spline to 32 spline. He's already aware of the Tcase adapter that will need to be acquired. And then theres the issues of having both driveshafts modified maybe. In the later years, since the adapters usually make up the difference in trans lengths, all combos with the NP208 can use the same shafts front and rear.

Yikes, and it's a 205. Those are bit tougher to find even yet so I doubt it'll be cheap. Are you looking for a Race Track or Round pattern @Tyler Rea ???
