Want to change from 37x12.50x16.5 up to 17" or 18" rims...which one to use?

I am running Goodyear 37x12.50x16.5 on my truck right now, I want to get away from the noisy, vibrating rough ride of the bias ply's. Since any good 37" 10 ply tire doesn't come in 16.5 that I can find, need to move up to 17" or 18", don't really like the look of any larger rim than that, don't want a pimpmobile.
Looking at prices, there is really not much difference between the 17" and 18" 37's, just the rims I am looking at, American racing baja, only come in a 17" for the backspace I want...they look like this.

Found another similar design in Procomp that is 18" with bigger holes

Prefer the smaller pattern, but was wondering any pros/cons people have on running 17" vs 18" .

Smaller sidewall is good for keeping the bead sealed off road but smaller side wall also means rougher ride but not necessarily with a 37. I don't like big rims on these trucks but a 17 is only .50 so not a big deal. Them pro comp rims are light as hell. A friend has the on his Bronco not a bad wheel for the price.
