Truck starts no key

Do I have to get a new Ingition? Or is there an easier/cheaper way out?

It was common on the old GM's to have the Ignition key tumbler and or the key to wear to the point that you could pull out the key while the truck was running. Guessing due to a big clump of keys on the ring. Yours might have worn to the point it will turn on without the key. Probably not the best to leave it but anybody that is going to try and steal it will more than likely smack the column anyhow. To be safe replace the tumbler and new key.

I would go with rock auto and an AC Delco unit. I bought an Airtex 2F4 for my former 89 Suburban and it wouldn't clock right. Ended up going back to the original and some old worn flat keys, if I had to do it again I wouldnt cheap out.
