tires for 15 inch diameter, 6 inch wide steel rims

my 1987 c10 still has the original 205 75 R15. So this is a pretty skinny, tall tire. I am having a hard time finding the original tire sizes, which seems to only be available for trailer wheels, so I am thinking of going wider. Costco says I can use a 225 or even 235 width tire (like a 225 75 r 15), but this would make the tread portion much wider than the 6 inch rims. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Those tires will fit fine on those rims. Those combos we're available from the factory even.
