TH350 to 4L60E???

well for starters your gonna need one that has manual shift linkage, a stand alone TCM, shorter drive shaft, you can grab one of those out of a TH700R4 truck. i wanna say that the rear mount is different but i could be wrong. you also will no longer need a vacuum line running to your transmission for the shift modulator after the 4L60E is in. i maybe leaving out more specifics im just going off what i know the main differences are in TH350 and 4L60E transmissions. there is possibly more little things that you may have to do. ive personally never done if but i know people that have.

I'd stay away from that transmission, not worth the time to do the swap. if you really want the benifit of extra gear do a 4l80. ive blown up 4 4l65s behind my iron block ls1 in my 01 pickup and its a never ending problem. just not ment to be driven hard. thats my opinion

4L60 Transmission build

Hey guys, I'm back. So, I have a 4L60 ready to be rebuilt. I have all the parts (Mostly Borg Waner) a Sonax sun shell, new bearings, sprags, bushings and a stand to do all the work on. Here's the before photos and I'll have more as the build continues.

Hate to dig up an old thread lol but im considering the same swap in my 78, hows it held up?
